Olympique Lyon were safe, they win 1 million euros from Benzema's "Golden Ball".

The celebration of Real Madrid for the victory of the "Golden Ball" by Karim Benzma, has turned into a celebration for another person who was among the guests of honor in the hall. It is about Jean-Michel Aulas, the president of Olympique Lyonnais.

The club from which Benzema emerged has equally celebrated the success of the French striker, not simply because his academy is valued, but because he has earned a significant figure from this stanza. Aulas, who is known as an exceptional negotiator, was convinced that Benzema would make a name for himself in world football and become the best.

Thus, in 2009, when he sold the striker to Real Madrid for 35 million euros, he placed a clause in his contract, related to winning the "Golden Ball". It stipulated that Olympique Lyonnais would win 1 million euros if Benzema won the Ballon d'Or during his career at Real Madrid. Now it remains to be seen if this contract will be deemed valid by Madrid, as Benzema renewed the agreement in 2015. But the French media have confirmed this figure as certain, as Olympique Lyonnais has moved to secure payment from Madrid.
