Big surprise in the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich suffers first defeat

Augsburg achieved a surprise 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, handing the Bavarians their first Bundesliga defeat of the season.

Bayern dominated possession but were met with a well-organised defence by their visitors. Hiroki Ito scored the first goal of the match from a corner kick in the 23rd minute, giving the champions the lead.

Augsburg had chances to equalize in the first half, but failed to convert them. In the second half, the visitors looked more dangerous and equalized after a corner kick by Artur Chaves in the 75th minute. Five minutes later, Han-Noah Massengo scored the winning goal for Augsburg. Bayern failed to react in the remaining minutes.

Despite the loss, Bayern remains at the top, 12 points ahead of their rivals, while Augsburg moves out of the relegation zone.

In other duels, Bayer Leverkusen narrowly won against Werder Bremen, while Leipzig beat Heidenheim 0-3.

Mainz defeated Wolfsburg 3-1, while Hoffenheim also won against Eintracht Frankfurt with the same result.
