Ekuban scores decisive goal, Genoa on the verge of survival in Serie A

Genoa won 2-1 at home to Sassuolo, thanks to a decisive goal from Caleb Ekuban in the final minutes.

The home team took the lead in the 18th minute through Ruslan Malinovskyi, who scored from distance. Sassuolo equalized in the 57th minute through Ismael Koné, after a deflection by the goalkeeper.

In the first half, 20 shots on goal were recorded, while there was also tension in the tunnel, with red cards for Berardi and Ellertsson.

In the 84th minute, Ekuban scored from close range after an assist from Messias, making the score 2-1. This was the fourth goal of the season for the former Partizan striker.

With this victory, Genoa takes an important step towards survival. Sassuolo continues its poor away form, with only two wins in 10 matches.
