Today, the application for the national support schemes in the agriculture and livestock sector has officially started, which include a total of eight schemes, including the oil scheme, which is considered the largest and most requested by farmers. Applications will be open until May 30, giving all farmers sufficient time to submit the necessary documentation.
Arieta Kanari, head of the Advisory Service Sector, emphasizes that this year there are two small changes in the oil scheme. According to her, it does not matter who applies first, but who submits complete and regular documents.

"Today the application for national schemes begins, there are 8 schemes, the livestock, agriculture and the largest scheme we have is the oil scheme, which farmers are most interested in. The application starts today and lasts until May 30, we have a large period to apply. It is not important who is first, but whoever applies with regular documents will benefit first.
There are 2 small changes in the oil scheme, where both those who apply with a certificate of ownership and those who apply with an AMPT (ownership document) must have attached sketches for each plot. It is an additional document but very necessary to find the plots in the field. Another additional document is a sales invoice for inputs or chemical fertilizers, seeds or seedlings or the sales invoice for production. The highest interest for oil, livestock has a small difference in that calves and bulls are also included, and in the small animals section, males are also included", said Kanari.
Farmers who have applied so far express satisfaction with the ease of the procedure, but criticize the low level of financial support offered by the state. Some of the farmers indicate that despite the fact that the application is the same as last year and this time there were no difficulties, the economic support is symbolic.

"I applied for the livestock support scheme. I have cows, 16 heads. I have benefited in the past. It is not a support scheme like in Macedonia and Kosovo, they are paid more. The assistance is little but we want more from the government. It is not a big help. There were no difficulties in applying."
"We need other documents, for the land. The application is the same as last year and this year. The first time we had a hard time, this year not. We also benefited last year, for beekeeping. We get 10 thousand old lek for the hive. It's worth it, it's not worth it. The financial value should be higher, not 10 thousand old lek. At least like other countries have it. They have €40-€50. With the number of bees we have, this price is very low."
"It's too little. It's not worth it. Even the beehives need medicine, they need sugar. They're expensive," the farmers say.
Meanwhile, another farmer who has applied for livestock, owning 18 cows and 8 calves, is more satisfied with the assistance she has received.

"I applied for livestock, I have cows. I have 18 cows and 8 calves. I have always benefited, every time I have applied. I get 100 thousand old lek per cow. I am very satisfied. The documents are as they were, there have been no additions," she said.
From this year, the livestock scheme also includes support for calves and bulls, as well as for male small cattle, a change that aims to expand beneficiaries and increase the effectiveness of the aid. However, despite the efforts of institutions to improve the process and add new elements to the scheme, most farmers are demanding an increase in the financial value of the support, in order to truly cover the ever-increasing costs of agricultural and livestock production. /CNA
