But his family members have rejected this version, claiming that Ajredini was hit with hard objects by a person with whom he had had previous conflicts. They say that the victim, before losing consciousness, had told them that he had been attacked by a "short person from Pogradec", while according to them, the condition and wounds on some parts of the head do not match an accidental hit by an animal.

"I was in Rëmbec with my brother. We parted ways there. I found him drinking a glass at the museum, at the club. My brother took the horse and went to tie it to the alfalfa, I ran home. My cousin comes, wakes me up and says: "My brother was hit by a horse." We went 45 minutes before they were going to Tirana. I asked my brother and he said: “I wasn’t hit by a horse, but by a person from Pogradec.” I went to Tirana one day, the next day I reported him to Maliq. The case was very serious.
