In this 'Pink October', Fjona Bashi, a girl who has overcome one of life's greatest challenges, facing cancer, decided to share her story publicly.

Among dozens of girls and women, Fjona showed that she has always been part of awareness activities, as she comes from civil society. But this October is special for her. About two years ago, although only 34 years old, she discovered that she had been affected by breast cancer.

 "As part of civil society, I have always participated in the activities of 'Pink October'. But this year is different, I come as a girl who has spent this October in her skin. I came with the desire to give strength and courage. I know that there are many activities, but I call on all women that 'Pink October' should not last just one month.

Time is gold and every minute is precious. I discovered it by chance during self-checks. But I think the psychological side has been the most important to move forward.
Control is the key to the solution, because cancer no longer has an age.

The only thing we have in hand are early checks. If there is one piece of advice I can give, it is this: fear is the biggest enemy. I have never focused on fear, but only on the path to move forward. Without my family I would not be where I am today. Trust the doctors, trust the white shirts, because thanks to their hands, we are here today", said Fjona Bashi.

At the event "We Said It in Shkodra", Fjona shared with the young people her true experience, painful but full of strength and hope. She spoke about the moments of fear, the battle with treatments, the support of her family and above all, the determination not to give up.

Her message comes as a call for awareness for women and girls to undergo periodic check-ups, because cancer knows no age./CNA
