Only 29.5% of employees with 8-9 years of education receive a salary

Wage employment in our country is closely linked to the educational level of employees.

According to official INSTAT data, only 29.5% of people with 8-9 years of education are employed with a salary, while the percentage increases to 50% for those with secondary education and reaches 84.2% for individuals with higher education.

Data on paid employment by educational level show that individuals with lower education are mainly involved in informal work, self-employment or family farming, where no employment contract or stable income is provided.

Total employment in our country is much higher than the number of people who receive salaries and pay insurance.

This is because official statistics also consider as employed villagers who work a few hours on their land, even though they do not sell their produce and do not generate income.

The majority of those employed in agriculture, nearly 80%, do not receive salaries and most of them have a 9-year education.

Also, a large portion of workers in the construction sector have basic education and are more likely to work illegally, without insurance and excluded from the rights guaranteed by the Labor Code.

Even among workers with secondary education, there is a large gap between paid employment and total employment. Only half of workers at this educational level are paid employees and pay insurance.

There is still a large gap between vocational education and labor market needs, which limits opportunities for sustainable employment for young people.

Experts emphasize that, to increase the inclusion of salaried employees, the government should strengthen vocational education, promote work formalization, and create continuous training mechanisms for employees with basic education.

Wage employment by educational level shows that school plays a major role in providing stable income.

While people with higher education enjoy broader opportunities in the labor market, those with lower education remain more at risk of informal employment or lack of employment and may in the future be a major burden on the public pension scheme./ Monitor
