The World Tourism Organization has ranked Albania second in the world in terms of the rate of international tourists. In the "World Tourism Barometer", published with data on the tourism sector globally from January to July 2022, the WTO confirms Albania with a 19% increase compared to 2019, achieving one of the best recovery performances of the sector after the pandemic.

Po ashtu, vendi ka tregues pozitiv edhe në të ardhurat e gjeneruara prej turistëve të huaj, ku renditet në vend të katërt, me një rritje 32% krahasuar me të ardhurat e vitit 2019.


Në periudhën janar-gusht, Shqipëria numëroi mbi 5,6 milionë vizitorë të huaj, rreth 800 mijë më shumë se viti 2019, teksa vizitorët në zonat e mbrojtura (3,3 milionë në tetë muajt e parë të vitit) dhe preferenca e turistëve të huaj për rajonin e veriut (41%) tregojnë për një diversifikim të ofertës turistike dhe zgjatje të sezonit. Ndërsa pesha e turizmit në Prodhimin e Brendshëm Bruto vlerësohet të jetë mbi 17%.

According to the newly published Barometer, globally international tourist flows almost tripled from January to July 2022 (+172%) compared to the same period in 2021, but the sector still remains at 60% of the 2019 level, as many countries are finding it difficult to recover the trends.

In the event organized on September 27 on the occasion of the World Tourism Day, Minister Mirela Kumbaro announced that the preparation for the next tourist season has started and all procedures for the year 2023 will be closed within the month of December. According to Kumbaro, this will enable the private sector to better plan the work to manage tourist flows, setting a new standard for the organization of tourist seasons./ CNA.al
