Rock legends, Scorpions, are set to write a new chapter of musical history in Tirana this September, as part of their "Coming Home" world tour, marking an extraordinary 60-year journey on the world's biggest stages.
But for Albania, this concert is much more than just another stop on a tour. It's a reminder of how far this country — and this city — has come in just 24 years.
In 2001, when the Scorpions performed for the first time in Tirana, at the “Selman Stërmasi” stadium, Albania was searching for its way after a turbulent decade. It was a country searching for hope and new horizons. That night, when thousands of Albanians joined their voices to sing “Wind of Change,” that song became an anthem not only for rock lovers, but for a nation dreaming of finding its place in the world.
Two decades later, Albania’s story is no longer just a story of hope — it’s a story of real change. Tirana has transformed from a forgotten corner of the Balkans into a regional hotspot, with modern architecture, vibrant public squares, a dynamic lifestyle, and an energy that makes it one of the region’s most exciting capitals.
When the Scorpions return to Tirana on September 14, they will find a city proud, open, and ready to celebrate how far it has come — a capital city that stands as a symbol of what Albanians can achieve when they dream and work together.
Organized by Redcloud, the leading concert and festival organizer in Albania, this concert is expected to gather thousands of fans from every corner of the country and the region, united by songs that have stood the test of time: "Wind of Change", "Still Loving You", "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "Send Me an Angel".
But this time, “Wind of Change” will sound different. It will ring out over Skanderbeg Square, the symbolic heart of the nation — named after our national hero — where history, identity, and modern life meet every day.
This is not just a concert. It is a moment of pride for all Albanians — a reminder that the dreams sung in that small stadium in 2001 were not in vain. The Tirana of today is living proof that this country knows how to rise, grow, and stand proud on any stage.
