"Tourism through sounds"/ Special atmosphere in the pedestrian zone of

“Tourism through sounds” was the name of the activity held by the Wind Orchestra of the Armed Forces of Albania in the city of Shkodra. They performed on the city's pedestrian street, arousing the interest of citizens and tourists who were walking in this area.

For the orchestra's conductor, Altin Babameto, this event comes within the framework of a project of the Ministry of Defense, which aims to bring cultural meeting points to the tourist cities of Albania.

“This activity has a name and it is called 'Tourism through sounds'. It is a project of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces to conduct a tourist tour of all the important tourist cities of Albania, and Shkodra undoubtedly holds a special place.

Besides the fact that it is a cradle of culture, Shkodra has one of the best brass orchestras in Albania, which I love very much and I have friends with all of them, and it is a great fortune that we have that orchestra because it is a national asset. So our emotions and responsibility today are many times greater, because we are in front of our colleagues and we are performing a concert in front of our colleagues.

"We did a marching band on the pedestrian street in Shkodra and about 25 minutes of music that included both foreign and Albanian marches, as well as parts that are arrangements of Albanian folk music for these types of formations," said Babameto.   

In addition to the parade on the pedestrian street, the Brass Band also performed for several minutes in front of the Shkodra Municipality, conveying a special atmosphere for all those present who watched this performance./CNA
