Elections in 5 municipalities/ Voting for mayors begins

This Sunday, November 9, 2025, local by-elections will be held in 5 municipalities across the country.

Specifically, elections are taking place in the municipalities of Vlora, Tepelena, Mati, Cërrik and Berat.

In Vlora, SP candidate Brunilda Mersini will face Dionis Sota, supported by the DP, and Gjergj Nika.

In Berat, Ervin Ceca (SP) will face Pavlo Shkarpa.
In Mat, Altin Bojni (SP), Suzana Pasha as an independent candidate, and Eduart Brahilika, supported by the opposition, are competing.

In Cërrik, facing the socialist candidate Florenc Doka will be Amarildo Hoxha (independent, with support from the DP) and Eligert Hima from the "Albania Becomes Movement".

In Tepelena, socialist candidate Gramoz Sako is challenged by independent Gabriel Guma, supported by the opposition .
