Gender Equality Law/ Spahia: Has no connection with the EU integration process

Democratic Party MP Bardh Spahia stated this evening that the law on gender equality, voted yesterday in the Assembly, has no connection to the process of integration into the European Union.

Spahia stated in an interview with Syri TV that 21 European Union countries do not have this law. He added that Slovenia and Hungary have recently done the opposite of Albania, and have expressed their support for recognizing only two genders.

"We have continuously emphasized throughout this period of reviewing this draft law, which has already become law last night, the fact that it has no connection with the European Union integration process for Albania. Suffice it to mention the fact that there are 21 European Union countries that do not have this law.

Let us also remind citizens of the fact that countries like Slovenia or Hungary have recently done the opposite of this law. They have clearly expressed their support for recognizing only two genders, to show that it has nothing to do with the European integration process and is not a condition. After all, European integration processes are regulated mainly through directives that the European Union issues. And we have carefully studied the European Union's directives on gender equality. We have even issued them, we have documented them.

In these directives, only three notions are used. And specifically, 'Equality between women and men', that is, equality between women and men. 'Gender equality', gender equality in the binary sense: man and woman. 'Equal treatment in employment, occupation and pay'. So, equal treatment in work, occupation and pay.

And it always clearly refers to the binary meaning, that is, the recognition of only two genders: man and woman. In none of these European Union directives are the terms used in the current Albanian law used, where the main ones are, belonging, the terms dual belonging, which is repeated 25 times in almost every article of the law. Inclusive gender and its variants, which are repeated about 10 times in this law. Or men and women in all their diversity and this term is repeated about 10 times in all articles of this law.

"These are all ideological, leftist terms of a Woke culture, a Woke agenda, which for the sake of truth aims to transform societies. We have been familiar with these agendas since early on, where they had strong sponsorship from Soros and his companies, but which are currently taking an extraordinary hit all over the world and especially in America," Spahia said. /CNA
