The Speaker of the Parliament, Niko Peleshi, hosted this afternoon in a meeting the Commissioner for Enlargement of the European Union, Marta Kos.

The meeting took place in the context of the progress of European integration and the priorities of this process after the opening of all negotiation chapters.

During the meeting, Commissioner Kos praised the results achieved by Albania, emphasizing that the country has made impressive progress.

"It is easy to support Albania because of its high performance. Enlargement makes Europe stronger. Albania has done an excellent job in recent years. We greatly appreciate the popular support and political and parliamentary consensus for EU integration," Kos said.

Speaker Peleshi underlined Albania's unwavering commitment to European integration, describing it as a major priority and national strategic objective.

"European integration is rooted in our history and identity, in the motto of the Renaissance people "For Albania, the sun rises from the west". The Assembly will continue to guarantee the democratic legitimacy, transparency and inclusive character of the process. As Speaker of the Assembly, I will support the access and contribution of the opposition and citizens to integration", said Peleshi.
