Rutte-Rama meeting in Brussels/ NATO Secretary General: Albania a strong ally

Prime Minister Edi Rama meets with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels.

In a media appearance before the talks to be held, Rutte said that Albania is a strong NATO ally and why a small country is helping in Ukraine, Kosovo, Bulgaria and North Macedonia.

"Albania is a strong NATO ally and is helping a lot with Ukraine. And even though Albania is not a big country, it is doing a lot with KFOR in Kosovo, with Bulgaria, with North Macedonia," Rutte declared.

Prime Minister Edi Rama exchanged jokes with Rutte. He said that Albania is investing in the field of defense, emphasizing the construction of the new port in Porto Romano, for which he has requested NATO support.

"Always a pleasure to meet you not only for our long-term relationship but we always have something to learn. We are trying, we are moving forward, we are investing in the defense industry with the new port in Porto Romano. Thank you for hosting us and you are number one for having so much energy in the morning", said Rama at the conference with the NATO Secretary General./ CNA
