Initiative for changes in the Parliament's regulations/ Balla: We must

The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, in a reply during the plenary session in the Assembly, stated that the initiatives for changes to the Assembly's rules of procedure are fully based on the right that every MP has under the rules to propose changes.

Balla emphasized that these proposals are part of a normal parliamentary process and will be discussed and improved over the coming weeks, according to the procedures provided for by the Constitution and the rules of procedure of the Assembly.

He also stressed the importance of adapting parliamentary work to the stage Albania is at in the European Union accession process, emphasizing that so far the Assembly has adopted over 27 laws related to approximation with European legislation, without using accelerated procedures.

According to Balla, in the future, a broader discussion will be needed on simplified procedures and mechanisms that facilitate the reflection of legal changes during the integration process.

"In response to the quotes and mention of an initiative that is entirely based on the rules of the assembly in the right as the rules determine, that any deputy can propose changes to the rules. So, I do not ask permission from anyone, from the left wing of this hall, but of course it is a process that has been announced by us in public communications, that we will undertake some initiatives. I think it is very important to clarify, but at the right time, that the initiatives are proposals that need to be improved, will be improved in a process that will take its own weeks determined by the rules and the Constitution. It is very necessary to understand that in this phase that Albania is in and the leading role that the Assembly of Albania has throughout the process of membership in the European Union, to understand that we must also adapt our parliamentary work, not with accelerated procedures, we have not used the accelerated procedure in any of the laws that have aimed at approximation so far, and do not forget, they are over 27 laws that have passed in the Albanian Parliament in this legislature, which we have never used for the accelerated procedure. But we will have time to talk, because for all those who have little knowledge in this process, as this process has passed in Croatia, in Romania, in Bulgaria, we will have to sit down with each other to talk about simplified procedures, we must sit down to talk to each other about omniprocedures in the sense that we need to find procedures that with one change reflect the changes. We will have time to discuss this, it is not a matter of the agenda " , said Balla. /CNA
