The Together Movement candidate for the municipality of Tirana, Arlind Qori, stated this evening that they will not stop their campaign despite today's decision of the Constitutional Court to suspend President Bajram Begaj's decree. 

During his speech, in a television appearance, Qori further said that he is ready for a political debate with his two opponents, Ogerta Manastirliu and Florjan Binaj. 

"The President of the Republic has made a difficult decision to decree these elections. We as a party could not not put forward the candidacy, despite our reservations, and we could not stop the campaign. We are ready for elections whenever they are held. We will continue our activity. I am sorry that the other candidates will never come to a debate with me. I hope that after 25 years there will be a debate for the municipality of Tirana so that citizens can vote by getting to know the candidates. Citizens should have the opportunity to listen to everyone," said Qori. 

Asked why he refused to join the opposition in supporting Binaj's candidacy, he said that the Together Movement is a political force that has no connection to any of the old parties of the system. 

"Let's be honest, Ms. Manastirliu is the candidate of the PS and Edi Rama and consequently the municipality will be Rama's. So too, Florjan Binaj is the candidate of Sali Berisha and those parties that are in a coalition with the DP. If the citizens of Tirana vote for Binaj, they will have Berisha at the head of the municipality. Meanwhile, we have nothing in common with the old parties of the system. We are an anti-government party. In this sense, whenever the elections are held, we will go out to seek votes as the Together Movement. And we are stronger than ever." , Qori said./CNA
