The Constitutional Court has not overturned any of the acts that dismissed Erion Veliaj from office.

Today, the Constitutional Court simply considered the appeals of Erion Veliaj's lawyers, who, to justify their appeal, added Article 115 of the Constitution to their appeal.

The game of Veliaj's lawyers consisted precisely in introducing a constitutional provision in the request, with the aim of ensuring the suspension of the execution of the President's decree announcing new elections in Tirana.

This has happened! The Court has suspended the implementation of the Decree on the elections in the Municipality of Tirana.

But neither has Veliaj's dismissal been suspended nor has Veliaj been reinstated. If this can be called a small victory for the lawyers and Veliaj, it is unclear why the opposition is celebrating.

What did the democrats gain from today's Constitutional Court decision that the Tirana leadership is also celebrating for them?

The Constitutional Court has announced October 31st for the substantive review of the request by Veliaj's lawyers.

This date set by the Court for the review of Veliaj's request makes it impossible to hold elections for the Municipality of Tirana on November 9, whatever the expected decision.
