Doubling of financial support/ Rama: 11 thousand children with disabilities

Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the "Jonathan" Social Center today, where he presented the doubling of economic support for children and young people with disabilities, as well as new health and social guarantees for their caregivers.

Rama announced that 11,000 children with disabilities will benefit from a doubling of financial support. Among other things, he announced that the state will pay health and social insurance for all mothers and caregivers, just as if they were in employment.

"There are 11 thousand children with disabilities who will benefit from the doubling of financial support. Beyond this, we have also received a request from you for caregivers, because a mother who devotes herself to a child with special needs is unable to go to work and faces the lack of social and health insurance.

We also decided that the state budget will pay health and social insurance to all mothers and caregivers, just as if they were working. Everyone must understand that we are not out of touch with reality nor indifferent to the demands coming from social groups. Today we have a much more reliable social protection system, because it is more functional and efficient. People, in this new phase of development, have expectations” , said Rama. /CNA
