Britain "furious" by Rama's statements: Don't talk

Numerous British media outlets have written today regarding the statements made yesterday by Prime Minister Edi Rama in London on the situation in Britain after 'Brexit', regarding the decision to leave the EU, but also the illegal migration crisis.

According to reports, Rama has caused anger after claiming that Brexit led Britain into a "depression", while regarding the illegality of crossing the border via dinghies, he said that they are small boats.

"You left Europe because you wanted more happiness. Now you are depressed. Some call them small ships, some call them Brexit ships. And one wonders why you left Europe. This has worked in a fantastic way. It has worked in a way that I believe is sustainable," Rama declared yesterday.

British media add that according to a source from the UK Home Office, officials had commented that Rama has no idea what he is talking about and that he should mind his own business.

"Edi Rama has no idea what he is talking about. If he were really doing his job, Albanians would not have fled to the UK in droves. He should spend less time talking and more time taking back the record number of Albanian criminals filling our prisons," a source said.

This Wednesday, Rama was received by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Keir Starmer, along with other leaders from the Western Balkans, while earlier he was part of the reception organized by King Charles./ CNA
