In the tenders held by the Municipality of Tirana, I have seen strange things, 300 thousand euros for strategies written by Chat GPT on how to protect ourselves from natural disasters and no investment in equipment to protect against these disasters.

Roads that are torn down and rebuilt every year, bike lanes that suffer the same fate, paving and filling with taxpayers' money for asphalt that is torn up by the construction of buildings or internet fibers...

From these alone, at least half of the municipality's budget expenditures are saved.

And yet there is no need for free services, but for dignified services that we do not receive because the money we pay for taxes and fees has ended up in corruption schemes.

Good services, clean air, less traffic and more art.

That's what the candidate for Mayor of Tirana should promise. Miracles don't happen in a year and a half, but these few points are made in 6 months.

The step back of the opposition parties to support a figure who is not controlled by politics is an opportunity that we as citizens should not miss.

Personally, I have great respect for the education and citizenship that Ermal Hasimja has had and that he has shown today - a dignified candidacy, but also for the activism and contribution given to many causes by Florjan Binaj.
