In a reaction to Kosovo's "Express" on November 30, 2013, when Rilindja had just come to power, Mero Baze called for the arrest of Berisha, Genc Ruli, etc., but, according to him, Albania was not yet ready.
CNA is bringing below some of Mero Baze's positions yesterday and his positions today that differ greatly from yesterday.
He demanded a popular referendum and justice reform, and fiercely supported it until the arrest of Sali Berisha. He rubbed his belly for Berisha and Meta, cried a little for Ilir Beqe, and burst into tears for Veliaj.
Mero Baze's ass-kicking (in fact, it seems like an assessment that insults the ass if you compare him to Mero, as he likes to do, and in terms of his wickedness, he is even more evil than the devil) has no end, old age has probably made him a coward. Either he has dementia, or he remains a mercenary turned billionaire with villas and hotels.
CNA will bring dozens of articles to understand how Mero Baze, who in political and media circles bears the nickname of the terrorist, as Ylli Rakipi likes to call him, is actually worth less than the sewage spills that have been festering in Lana for decades.
But there are also such remnants that anyone can bring out, such as Berisha, Meta, Rama or even Veliaj, with the latter Mero could not realize his dream of being there when he checked his anus months ago.
Renowned Albanian journalist and publisher of the newspaper "TemA", Mero Baze, has commented for "Express" on the issue of the anti-corruption fight in Albania and the possibility of arresting former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his government's exponents. This topic has been discussed recently in Brussels, in the context of the conditionality of Albania's integration into the European Union and the evidence that Tirana must provide in the anti-corruption fight.
Baze says that it is now clear that Berisha has grounds to be arrested. But, according to him, it is unlikely that something like this will happen due to the degradation of the justice system in Albania.
"Albania seems not to be ready for this yet. Not so much because of the will of the government as because of the degradation of the justice system, which is also a product of Berisha's rule," he says. "If the West wants to know when Albania will have a legal state, it does not need to monitor Albania, but simply wait to hear when Sali Berisha will be arrested. Sali Berisha has committed clear criminal acts, for which he could be arrested and never get out of prison, if the legal state is ever established in Albania," he adds.

Here he was probably looking at names when SPAK was taking orders from him, the same dream he has today with Erion Veliaj.
According to Baze, there are many exponents of the former government in Albania who could be arrested.
"Genc Ruli has committed clear violations of the law with economic damage, by signing concessions that should have been signed by Parliament, Arben Imami has caused havoc with the military's businesses, illegal wiretapping of the opposition and illegal financing of pro-government media during the Berisha era, Lulzim Basha has escaped charges for 220 million euros through procedure, without facing trial, Fatmir Mediu has escaped prison by using immunity, Eduard Halimi has used prisoners in the last campaign by making promises to pardon life sentences," Baze says.

But can Edi Rama's government cope politically with such an undertaking?
"Justice deals with punishment. But the problem here is justice. It is the most arrogant and the most incriminated. A show on 'Fiks Fare', one of the best in the history of Albanian press, proved that for three consecutive months an Albanian convict had to pay from the secretary of the court in Puka to the president of the High Court in Tirana. And today Berisha's former Minister of Justice has come out to defend them. So, the biggest problem here is who will punish Albanian justice," he says.

"If Edi Rama and this government intend to do something, they should start by reforming the judiciary, expanding this system, holding a referendum on these constitutional changes, to make the people the masters of this change and then start punishing criminal histories in Albania. With this justice, crime and corruption in Albania are on a roll," he emphasizes.

How beautifully Mero Baze spoke about reformed justice, about arrests in 2013. There is a very interesting thing in Albania: some ideas seem great... until they start being implemented.
Albania would become a state of law the day Sali Berisha was arrested. He even saw the arrest of powerful politicians as the purest symbol of justice. Berisha is under indictment, has a criminal record, was forced to stay under house arrest for almost a year. The criminal process against him continues as Mero Baze, who was the standard-bearer of the new justice, wanted.

A reform that has removed almost half of the people in the old justice system, where quite a few individuals have been unfairly targeted and many others in the system are instruments of the socialist majority. A reform welcomed and supported by everyone, except Sali Berisha who expected his fate from this reform.
From her, Mero Baze expected the downfall of his spiritual father, the one who once praised him and stood in his hallway, had now made him an enemy, having preferred to change his bed and go to Edi Rama, the man who once did not even spare his son with dirty and perverse accusations. In fact, this is Mero Baze.
Justice reform was carried out. The Constitution was changed. Vetting was carried out. SPAK was established. And, to everyone's surprise, justice began to do exactly what had been demanded for years by both yesterday's Mero and today's wretched people: investigate politicians. and even arrest them.
And here the comedy begins. Because the moment justice began to really function, the old theory was updated. The arrest of politicians, which yesterday was "proof of the rule of law", today requires deeper analysis, greater caution and perhaps... a little less arrests.
Berisha and Meta are arrested, they applaud, Veliaj is arrested on duty, destroying evidence, never mind that he is not called on duty, only they are called. They did not do this for Saimir Tahiri, nor for Ilir Beqje, nor for Lefter Koka, nor for Vangjush Dako or several other mayors. Now that Veliaj was imprisoned, the song has changed.
We can see it as a beautiful evolution: Phase 1: "Arrest the politicians, so we can have a rule of law." Phase 2: "But not these politicians... wait a minute, these... that's how it is."
Essentially, the justice reform worked. The problem is that it worked very well, there may be problems, but SPAK started to function so well that it started to affect people at the highest levels such as former presidents, former prime ministers, ministers, deputy ministers, deputies, mayors, not only with theories and editorials that yesterday called for arrests, today they say, "but not Erioni."
And for this, Mero forgot everything and didn't even spare the partisan deserter Sadushi, who had taken him out into the open and taken his face, although in time his mask would fall off.
A new, very practical standard was created: justice is excellent when promised, necessary when demanded, but problematic when implemented. They want justice, but according to their own scales that steal with a candelabra.
They wanted a state of law and justice only as an idea. As long as it remains an idea, it's fantastic. When it's implemented, it's ruined./ CNA
