As expected, an academic year began with a significant decrease in the number of students in higher schools and beyond. Although the constitution, not only ours, defines the right to study for all students who have the desire and merit, university quotas are based on the threshold of the average grade to enter higher education.

This absurdity and this injustice has been happening for years, while no one raises their voice. Even more paradoxical is the fact that the calculation of the average of graduates is done by government decision.

50% of the average have the copies in the state matura exam that equal and exceed the results of those students who are tired for years, although there are also fictitious grades influenced by the courses and interventions from different people such as friends, managers, authorities, etc. .

Even those who have finished the matura years ago, and with good grades, must retake the matura exam to compete for higher education. This criterion disappoints young people in the most beautiful moment of their lives and affects the emptying not only of universities, but also of Albania. It gives a reason to leave and those young people who have doubts.

Paradoxically, it is more possible for them to study in other countries that have better education than us. Some even go to study in Kosovo, which is not bad, if they don't go out of compulsion and also come more from Kosovo to study here.

Let students study where they want and where they can, but don't be forced by absurd criteria. This criterion has deepened the division, not to mention the gap, according to gender and according to profession in schools and therefore in society. Even more paradoxical is that it makes a government that is held to be left-wing, for which training would be primary compared to professionalism or blind specialization for an automated role in the economic mechanism.

A government decision cannot separate once and for all who does and who does not do school. To remove the average grade threshold to study in high school as soon as possible. Let young people discover and develop their interests and passions for knowledge, and above all build the future and in their country, at least a part.

The great Greek philosopher of serenity, Epicurus, would be horrified by our schools. He admitted slaves to school, while today the "free" are hindered; they are producing more labor slaves than people.
