"The Bear" sets record/ Wins 2024 Emmy Awards

"The Bear" won 11 "Emmy" awards from 23 nominations in the 76th edition.

The placement of the category caused controversy on social media. During the ceremony, Emmy-nominated television writer Chase Mitchell noted that the show has some funny characters, but called comedy lead actor Jeremy Allen White's character "humorless."

"The Bear" won acting awards for White, Moss-Bachrach and Colón-Zayas, as well as another trophy for directing.

The ceremony ended on a surprising note as the HBO/Max series "Hacks" won the top prize for comedy series.

"Hacks" actress Jean Smart also won the Edebir for Lead Actress in a Comedy Emmy.

At the weekend's Creative Arts Emmys, "The Bear" was the biggest comedy series winner, picking up awards for Jamie Lee Curtis and Jon Bernthal in the acting categories, as well as cinematography, casting and editing.

Allen White described himself as "so, so, so lucky" after winning the Emmy for lead actor in a comedy series for his role as Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto.
