A young woman in the US who says she has spent $49,000 on plastic surgery over several years says she will "never stop" until she achieves the look she wants.

23-year-old Serena Smith, of Beverly Hills, California, says she had a $7,500 nose job, an $11,000 breast job and spent more than $15,000 on other "fillers," not to mention the "Brazilian butt" surgery.

She says she wants to achieve the look of Hollywood 'golden age' beauties like actresses Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield.

But although she has spent around $50,000 she says she is not done there and is preparing for another intervention, as her fans in the wider world of the internet, do not seem satisfied.

Serena says she can't give up even though the recovery from the surgeries takes several difficult weeks or months.

"Recovery after operations is the hardest part. The cast has to be worn 23 hours a day, sometimes for two months, and the whole time you are covered in sores or swelling."

Passionate about interventions, she added further: "I carried with me vessels that overflowed the blood and fluids that came out of my body for almost two weeks ... it was not something beautiful to see."
