The Independent: Albania, one of the right destinations for winter holidays

The prestigious "The Independent" suggests the best destinations to spend the winter holidays.

Albania is also included in the list of some countries listed by The independent.

Here is the list:

Greece

Departing London Stansted on September 20, Tui has a package holiday to Zante from £217 per person for a week, that's just £31 per day, staying at Hotel Angela in the premier resort of Laganas.

The weather is about 10 degrees warmer than Stansted, with more sun.

Spain

If you prefer a quieter resort, head to the Canary Islands. A week's package with Tui at the 4Dreams Hotel in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, flying from Manchester on September 23, is £293. The resort is well placed for hill walks and excursions to the capital, Santa Cruz, and the quaint town of La Laguna.

Turkey

By November, the eastern Mediterranean looks much more attractive than the UK. On 8 November you can travel from Luton to Antalya with easyJet Holidays for a week, staying at Senza The Inn in Alanya for just £355 per person. Average daily temperatures are 22 degrees, compared to 11 degrees in Luton.

The city you fly into, Antalya, is an amazing place that most seem to miss with a spectacular harbor several millennia old, beautiful antiquity and excellent local cuisine.

Portugal

Jet2 will fly you from Birmingham on December 8 for a week for £282 per person, including flights to Faro, transfers and accommodation at Ukino Terrace Algarve.

This isn't the Med, it's the Atlantic, so the temperatures are rising, but Armacao is a great, relaxed resort with plenty of shore walks.

Albania

For the cheapest winter holidays, go to Albania in November. A bus from Tirana airport to the coastal town and main resort of Durrës costs 600 lek (£5) each way. And a week at the four-star hotel Zanzi costs 189 pounds ./ CNA
