But when was the term Constitution used for the first time in Albania?

The General Directorate of Archives has published documents on the amendment of the country's Constitution during the Parliamentary Republic in 1925, the Parliamentary Monarchy and the People's Republic.

In 1925, the Basic Statute of the Albanian Republic was adopted, a complete "constitution" in a single document. In point 1 it was written: Albania is a Parliamentary Republic headed by 1 president. Sovereignty originates from the people.

In 1928, the Basic Statute of the Kingdom was adopted. In the first point it was written: Albania is a democratic, parliamentary and hereditary Kingdom.

The term constitution was used only after the Second World War, with the adoption of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Albania in 1946. In its first point it was written: Albania is a People's Republic. /CNA.al
