The Church of St. Ndout at Cape Rodoni

The church, named after a Saint like Shna Ndou, is one of the most famous churches in the area during the Middle Ages. This church was among the oldest Franciscan Assemblies.

It is also said that it was built by Skanderbeg's sister for the nuns of Saint Chiara and was destroyed by the earthquake of the mid-19th century.

Inside the church, partial remains of the original murals depicting unusual symbols can still be seen. Located in a terrorist area that was turned into a military zone during the communist years, it has been out of sight of believers for many decades.

But after the 1990s, with the fall of communism in Albania, thanks to Father Zef Pllumi, this church was returned to the Franciscan Province and today it is a monument that has special importance for Catholic believers and great architectural and artistic value for the culture of the nation.
