The Municipality of Korçë and the Center of Art and Culture will organize the International Colony of Figurative Arts, "Days of Mio".

The 13th edition of this event will start on October 25 and will last 3 days, until October 28.

The International Colony of Figurative Arts is named after the great painter Vangjush Mio.

Mio ranks among the greatest painters of the tradition.

He is considered the painter with values ??and personality in Albanian realistic painting. Nowadays, he is considered the first author of the history of professional art of the 20th century.

Vangjush Mio is the modern father of the Albanian landscape.

Vangjush Mio was the first impressionist painter in Albania. He is best known for his landscapes and is considered the most perfect Albanian landscape painter of the 20th century.

He took his favorite subjects from Korça, Pogradec and the surroundings, but he also immortalized in his works other cities such as Tirana, Elbasan, Himara, Berati and Gjirokastra.

In addition to landscapes, Mio was also brilliant at painting portraits. At the same time, he was the stage designer of the theater of the city of Korça.

During his 40-year career, he produced over 400 drawings and 130 paintings. About 60 of his works can be admired in the National Art Gallery in Tirana. Other works, under the care of his daughter Rozeta, are exhibited in Vangjush's house, which is now known as the Vangjush Mio Museum.

In 1994, 21 paintings that have not yet been found were stolen from the museum. The following 27 paintings with a value of about $300,000 were reported missing in July 2012. Among the 27 missing paintings were some of the painter's early works dating back to the early 1920s./ CNA
