The murder of Shkëlzen Kastrati/ The appeal gives the verdict for Albert Zaja

Businessman Shkëlzen Kastrati

The Court of Appeal today gave the verdict for Albert Zaja, accused of murdering businessman Shkëlzen Kastrati on February 1, 2021.

The appeal upheld the previous decision, which sentenced Zaja to 12 years and 8 months in prison.

The latter was arrested in March 2021 in the village of Larushk in Kruja, while it is suspected that he collaborated with 3 other people for the assassination.

Kastrati was executed at the roundabout at the entrance of Fier, as he was coming from this direction with his "Mercedez Benz" vehicle.

The perpetrators were chasing him in a "Range Rover" type vehicle and shot him with a gun.

The victim lost control of the car and collided with another vehicle on this road, in which father and daughter were, endangering their lives. Businessman Kastrati died immediately after the assassination./ CNA
