They protested against Veliaj/ Police arrest two citizens

The Tirana police have arrested two citizens who participated in the protest in front of the Tirana City Hall.

In the police announcement, it is stated that the two protesters opposed the police and threw pyrotechnics in the two protests on April 11 and April 19.

Specifically, the 36-year-old man with the initials AM and the 40-year-old man with the initials LN, both residents of Borizana in Kruja, have fallen into handcuffs.

The police accuse them of the criminal offenses "Assaults due to duty", "Disturbance of public peace", "Breach of rules on explosives and incendiary substances", and "Destruction of property by fire", carried out in cooperation.

"Tirana Local Police Directorate, today 26.04.2024, at 08:00, regarding the violent acts carried out during the protests of 11.04.2024 and 19.04.2024, in front of the Tirana Municipality, by the Alliance for the Protection of the Theater , following the investigative and procedural actions and under the guidance of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, stopped the citizens:

- AM, 36 years old, and LN, 40 years old, both residents of Borizana, Kruja, for the criminal offenses "Assaults due to duty", "Disturbance of public peace", "Breach of rules on explosives and incendiary substances", and "Destruction of property by fire", carried out in cooperation.

From the investigative actions carried out, it is suspected that these citizens, during the protests held on 11.04.2024 and 19.04.2024, committed violent acts, violently opposed the police officers, threw pyrotechnics and Molotov cocktails at the police officers and the Municipality of Tirana.
