Money from crime/ The Tirana Prosecutor's Office requests the confiscation of Ndues Gjergji's assets

The prosecution has requested the confiscation of over 2.5 million euros of the citizen N.GJ and his family members, as it is suspected that it derives from criminal activity.

Announcement of the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana:

"The Prosecutor's Office in Tirana requests the confiscation of over 2.5 million euros of property belonging to the citizen N.Gj and his family members: It stems from criminal activity

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana submitted a request for the confiscation of at least 2.5 million euros of property belonging to the citizen N.Gj. who passed away in 2020 as a result of an assassination attempt with a firearm and his family members, after it was proven that they are connected and derived from criminal activity.

In the framework of the investigations on the property proceeding no. 03, of the year 2023, in charge of this citizen, it turned out that the deceased was part of a criminal group whose main field of criminal activity was the criminal offense of 'Trafficking in narcotic substances' provided by article 283 of the Criminal Code.

The prosecution proved that the citizen N.Gj. was under investigation in the Netherlands for the criminal offense of 'Money Laundering', while he was previously arrested and convicted for drugs in Italy. From the analysis of the facts and the administered documentation, regarding the assets of the citizen N.Gj. and his family members, it turned out that they have an unjustified economic level and it is suspected that the 13 real estates were acquired as a result of criminal activity.

Based on the above, the prosecutor's office estimated that his assets and those of his family members meet the criteria provided by Article 11 of Law No. 10192 dated 03.12.2009 ″On preventing and combating organized crime, trafficking and corruption through preventive measures against assets″, since there is a reasonable suspicion that the citizen N. Gj was involved in the criminal activity of the criminal offense "Production and sale of narcotics" and "Money Laundering".

For this reason, the prosecution requests the confiscation and transfer to the ownership of the state of the following assets:
