A serious incident has shaken Gjirokastra today, where a 17-year-old was found without signs of life in his apartment in the village of Valare. According to preliminary sources, the young man, with the initials VP, is suspected of having hanged himself. At around 13:30, he was transported to the Gjirokastra Regional Hospital by his family, but doctors determined that he had died earlier.

The investigation team is at the scene and has launched investigative actions to clarify the full circumstances of this tragedy. Relatives of the Peçi family inform CNA that the young man suffered from isolation and melancholy problems, but was not under any medical treatment. The family is originally from the Picar village of Gjirokastra.

Police have seized the 17-year-old's phone and several personal belongings, while peers and students from the "Siri Shapllo" high school, where the young man attended classes, are expected to be questioned.

Recall that just two months ago, another 17-year-old from the same school ended her life, adding to concerns about the overall emotional stability of adolescents and the many untreated problems.
