The State Police, through a media release, has called on citizens not to fall prey to online fraud, referring to online pyramid schemes.

The police call on citizens who have lost money on the "Xuex" and "Txex" platforms to report to local police departments or the Police Directorate.

The State Police calls on citizens to exercise maximum caution to avoid falling prey to online scams, which are presented as quick-profit investment opportunities, mainly in the form of pyramid schemes and investments in cryptocurrencies.

 

The Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes at the General Directorate of the State Police, in cooperation with the Police and the Prosecutor's Office of the Fier Judicial District, are continuing in-depth investigations within the framework of the "XUEX" operation, to fully uncover and bring to justice the perpetrators and agents who have organized fraudulent schemes of online pyramid schemes.

 

Also, the tracking and documentation of the movements of cryptocurrencies used in these criminal activities is continuing.

 

Despite the immediate response of the Police and the crackdown on these fraudulent schemes, criminal groups are trying to use new forms of online fraud to illegally profit.

 

In this context, it has been found that groups are circulating on communication platforms such as "Viber", "Telegram" and similar ones that offer "free lessons" on the functioning of cryptocurrencies. Their real goal is to gain the trust of citizens and then encourage them to invest in fraudulent platforms.

 

The State Police invites all citizens who have lost money by investing in platforms such as "Xuex", "Txex" or similar ones, to report to the Cyber ??Crime Investigation Directorate at the General Directorate of the State Police, as well as to the Cyber ??Crime Investigation Sector at each local Police Directorate, to report the cases.
