The Supreme Court has upheld the sentence for Salvador Letizia and the two brothers, Klejvi Doçi and Markeljan Doçi, the perpetrators of the "Zogu i Parë" boulevard massacre.

We remind you that Salvatore Letizia was sentenced to life imprisonment, Markelian Doçi to 27 years in prison, while Klevi Doçi to 20 years in prison.

This decision was given by the Court of Serious Crimes.

The serious crime took place on May 27, 2015. Mentor Lufi (Doçi), Gerti Goxhaj and Besnik Sulku were killed in the gunfight.

Sulku and Letizia ambushed Doçi near the Faculty of Natural Sciences on the afternoon of May 27. The moment Doçi got into the car with his friend, Gerd Goxhaj, a volley of bullets was fired in their direction.

Goxhaj was killed on the spot, while Doçi died a few minutes later. His two nephews immediately took revenge for the uncle's murder.

Markeljan Doçi and his brother Klejvi were in another car, with which they were moving their uncle. At the moment, Markeljan Doçi exchanged fire with Besnik Sulku, until he was killed, while waiting for the police to handcuff him.

Salvatore Letizia fled the scene, but was caught a few hours later in a hotel. / CNA
