Checks at the Port of Durres/Trafficking the stolen vehicle, 38-year-old arrested

An Italian citizen was arrested in Italy for attempting to traffic a vehicle stolen a month ago into Albania.

The vehicle is seized.

As a result of increased controls, verifications and interviews, at the entrance/exit of the country, with the objective of preventing illegalities, the Border Police services of the port of Durrës arrested, at the entrance to Albania, the Italian citizen GL, 38 years old.

The verifications carried out revealed that the vehicle that this citizen was attempting to bring into Albania had been stolen in Italy, on 25.07.2025.

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Durrës, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in motor vehicles." /CNA
