Ultra-pure cocaine from Bolivia in Foggia/ 24 arrested, including Albanians

A large-scale anti-drug operation carried out by the Carabinieri of Foggia in Italy resulted in 24 arrests, including Albanian citizens.

The investigation, coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor's Office, led to the dismantling of an active criminal network between Foggia, Rieti, Emilia Romagna and lower Molise. The network, made up of Italian and foreign nationals, had an estimated monthly turnover of €200,000.

According to Italian media, the operation began with a full investigation between May 2024 and April 2025.

Investigators monitored a network of individuals, including a 36-year-old Albanian already known to law enforcement for specific criminal convictions, considered the key to cocaine trafficking in the Daunia region.

The man is suspected of managing the bulk supply of drugs through his compatriots based in Northern Italy, then distributing it through a dense network of associates.

According to the investigators' reconstruction, the drug trafficking network was capable of bringing between 5 kg and 10 kg of cocaine to the province of Foggia every month.

The substance was purchased for over €22 per gram and resold at prices ranging between €30 and €50 per gram, depending on the quantities requested. This system would have generated monthly profits of around €200,000, fueling a sizeable illegal market. /CNA
