Convicted for drugs/ The 36-year-old is expected to be extradited to Italy

Armand Lushaj (Jazaj), who is incarcerated in Fier prison, is expected to be extradited to Italy, after being accused of murder and possession of weapons without a permit.

Lushaj is expected to be extradited to Italy after the Court of Appeal of Florence has sentenced him to 9 years in prison for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics". 

Police Notification: 

Meanwhile, after the exchange of information between Interpol Rome and Interpol Tirana, as well as after the verifications carried out by the investigative structures of the Vlora Local Police Directorate, the provisional arrest was made in the premises of IEVP Fier, with the aim of extradition to Italy, of the citizen Armand Lushaj ( Jazaj), 36 years old, resident of Vlora.

The arrest of this citizen was made after the Court of Appeal of Florence sentenced him to 9 years of imprisonment (the remaining part of the sentence, 7 years, 8 months and 4 days of imprisonment), for the criminal offense "Trafficking of narcotics", provided by the Code Penalty of Italy.

This citizen is suspected of having trafficked significant amounts of cocaine and cannabis in the cities of Florence, Arezzo, Brindisi and Rieti, Italy, between 2016 and 2018.

The citizen Armand Lushaj (Jazaj), is currently in the IEPP Fier, after the Court of Vlora has assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Deliberate murder, attempted murder, and "Unauthorized production and possession of weapons , explosive weapons and ammunition".

In 2020, in the neighborhood "29 Nëntori", Vlorë, this citizen attempted to kill citizen A. Xh. with a pistol, leaving him injured.

This citizen, thanks to the cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Athens, was caught in Greece and in July 2023, he was extradited from Greece to Albania./ CNA
