A police inspector has been arrested in Tirana for driving while intoxicated. The citizen, FL, who is an assistant specialist in Community Policing at Police Station No. 5 in the capital, has been placed in handcuffs.

The police inspector was arrested after he was involved in an accident on George Bush Street in Kamëz this afternoon, resulting in only material damage. After being tested for alcohol, he tested positive at 0.91mg/l.

The Police Supervision Agency (Tirana Region) has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer Inspector FL, with the duty of Deputy/Community Policing Specialist at Police Station No. 5, Tirana, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Irregular Driving" provided for in Article 291 of the Criminal Code.

His arrest was carried out after today at around 16:40, while driving his vehicle on "George Bush" Street in Kamëz, he was involved in an accident resulting in only material damage.

After verification with the alcohol test, it resulted positive at 0.91mg/l.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana.
