Prostitution network in Rome busted/An Albanian woman among those arrested

Italian police have arrested an Albanian citizen during an operation to crack down on a prostitution ring in a nightclub in Anzio, near Rome.

The operation was carried out by officers of the "Squadra Mobile" in Rome, in collaboration with the Anzio police station. During the operation, the 74-year-old owner of the bar was also arrested, who is accused of exploiting, favoring and inciting prostitution.

During the searches at the nightclub premises, police identified four women of Albanian, Colombian and Nigerian nationality, who were suspected of being involved in the prostitution activity carried out at the venue.

According to Italian media, at the time of the intervention, there were about 20 customers in the club's premises, including 12 minors, who were later handed over to their families.

Also, during the operation, the police seized a small amount of cocaine and around 1,500 euros in cash. Italian authorities have ordered the seizure of the nightclub, while investigations continue to fully uncover the network's activities and the role of the people involved. /CNA
