Rigels Gjinaj

Rigels Gjinaj, the 34-year-old Albanian, who in September of last year shot dead Emanuel Rrokun in a bar in Turbigo (in the metropolitan city of Milan), risks life imprisonment.

Italian media reports that Public Prosecutor Ciro Caramore rejected the request for "restorative" justice made by the defendant's defense, instead seeking the maximum sentence for him from the Court of Assizes of the Court of Busto Arsizio.

How did the murder happen? 

On the evening of September 16, 2022, Rock was sitting at the outdoor tables of a bar along Via Allea Comunale in Turbigo. An argument apparently ensued with Rigels, which culminated in the 34-year-old Albanian pulling out a semi-automatic pistol and firing at least three times, one bullet hitting his 23-year-old compatriot and the other two injuring two people, including a 20 year old boy.

The 23-year-old died shortly after arriving at the Legnano hospital, while the 34-year-old was hospitalized for some time in Gallarate due to the beatings he suffered that evening.

"I didn't want to kill anyone. I would like to go back and erase all this pain", declared Rigelsi, who ended up in prison for murder./ CNA
