The 43-year-old Albanian Arjanit Rizaj, executed two days ago in Ecuador, was a name completely unknown to the local justice and authorities.

This is what Chronicle journalist Dashamir Biçaku stated in an interview for Euronews Albania.

According to Biçak, Rizaj had no registered criminal records, but his execution may have come as a result of clashes over cocaine.

" Arjanit Rizaj, 43 years old, this is the identity that has been discovered, that there may be a possibility that the document he presented in Ecuador is fake. The Ecuadorian authorities have not had any information about him. He entered Ecuador by land, believed to have entered from Peru. He is not recognized by the authorities, so even his murder is certainly related to clashes due to cocaine, but there is still no information about him, since he has no criminal record in Ecuador", said Biçaku.

The murder of Rizaj is suspected to have been committed immediately after the arrest of the much-wanted justice Dritan Rexhepi in Turkey./ CNA
