The most wanted man is arrested in Kavaje

The police arrested a 46-year-old man with the initials S. G in Kavaja, a member of a criminal group that trafficked heroin.

The Court of Katanzaro, on July 4 of last year, set the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Participation in a criminal group, with the aim of drug trafficking".

The 46-year-old is expected to be extradited to Italy. 

Police Notification: 

The operation, from the services of the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the Department of Criminal Police in the DPPSH, following police operations for the capture of internationally wanted citizens.

A member of a criminal group in Italy for the trafficking of Heroin, he is located in Kavaja and arrested for the purpose of extradition, the 46-year-old.

Following the police operations for the capture of wanted citizens, which are carried out within the framework of the "Rule of Law" mega-operation and as a result of the exchange of information between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome, the services of the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the Department of the Criminal Police in DPPSH organized and finalized the coded operation "Operationalja 5".

During the operation, the Albanian citizen SG, 46 years old, who was declared internationally wanted, was located in Kavajë, captured and provisionally arrested, to be extradited to Italy. The Court of Catanzaro, Italy, on 04.07.2023, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Participation in a criminal group, for the purpose of drug trafficking", provided by the Italian Criminal Code.

The criminal group in which the 46-year-old participated is suspected to have trafficked significant amounts of narcotics, mainly heroin, to Italy during the period 2013-2018.

Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome are cooperating to extradite this citizen. /CNA
