Corruption scandal/ Belgian authorities surprise controls in the European Parliament

The Belgian authorities have carried out detailed checks today in the offices of the European Parliament, as part of the investigations into the Qatargate scandal.

Greek media reports that police officers have appeared today at the Strasbourg offices to check and identify new evidence, based on the information that came out after the last depositions.

Police investigators lock up the office of Michelle Ryu, a member of the subcommittee on human rights. 

A computer related to the work of this commission was also confiscated.

It is recalled that Antonio Pancheri was the head of the Human Rights Subcommission in question years ago.

More than 1.5 million euros in cash were seized in total from the homes of Eva Kaili and former European deputy Pierre Antonio Pancheri in Brussels, according to Belgian police./ CNA.al
