Fragile security in the North/ The barricades are not removed

The security situation in the north of Kosovo continues to be fragile, as in the past days, the Kosovo Police said on Tuesday.

They confirmed to Radio Free Europe that "the barricades remain in the same places", but gave no further details.

Some local Serbs, since December 10, have erected barricades and blocked the roads leading to the border points with Serbia, Jarinje and Brnjak.

The barricades were erected after the Kosovo Police arrested the former Serbian policeman, Dejan Pantiq, on suspicion of being involved in an attack against officials of the Central Election Commission.

The Basic Court in Pristina has announced on December 12 that Pantiq has been ordered to be detained for one month./REL
