White House seeks $106 billion in aid for Ukraine, Israel and US southern border

The White House asked Congress today to approve an emergency aid package of 106 billion dollars for Israel and Ukraine, as well as for the southern border of the USA, reports Politico.

The request includes $61.4 billion for Ukraine, including $44.4 billion to provide defense department equipment for the country. For Israel, the Biden administration is seeking $14.3 billion. In addition, the package includes $9.15 billion for the US State Department to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Israel and Gaza.

The Biden administration faces a number of obstacles to passing this aid package. The House of Representatives is deadlocked without a speaker, with some of the most vocal conservative members of the House of Representatives opposing the amount of aid sent to other countries./  CNA
