Iran could launch "significant" attacks on Israel this week, the White House said on August 12, as US President Joe Biden discussed the Middle East crisis with European leaders.

"We need to be prepared for what could be a series of significant attacks," National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters.

"We share the same concerns and expectations as our Israeli counterparts regarding the likely timing [of any Iranian attack], which could happen this week," Kirby added.
