US and Allies: North Korean Hackers Are Stealing Military Secrets

North Korean hackers have carried out a global cyber espionage campaign to steal classified military secrets to support Pyongyang's banned nuclear weapons programme, the United States, Britain and South Korea said on Thursday.

Hackers, known as Anadriel or APT45 by cyber researchers, have targeted or interfered with computer systems in many engineering companies, but also in those for the production of tanks, submarines, warplanes, missiles and radar systems, it was said in the joint response of those countries.

The FBI has issued an arrest warrant for one of the suspected hackers and has offered a $10 million reward for information leading to his arrest.

He has been charged with hacking and money laundering, according to information released by the FBI.

Internationally isolated North Korea has a long history of stealing sensitive military information.
