Military helicopter crashes in Qatar, six dead, one missing

The crash of a military helicopter in Qatar early Sunday morning proved fatal for the crew members who were on board at the time of the accident.

According to the country's Interior Ministry, six people are reported to have died, while another person is missing, while the search for him continues. Earlier, Qatar's Defense Ministry announced that the helicopter had crashed in regional waters due to a technical malfunction during a routine flight.

According to the announcement, the helicopter encountered a “technical defect” while performing a “routine flight.” A search and rescue operation has been conducted in the maritime area, while the fate of the seventh person remains unknown to Qatari authorities.
