"48 hours"/ Trump threatens: If Iran does not reopen the Strait of

United States President Donald Trump has issued a 48-hour warning to Iran if it does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

In his post on Truth Social, Trump threatened that the US would strike and destroy their various power plants if the Strait is not reopened.

“If Iran does not FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will strike and destroy their various power plants, STARTING WITH THE LARGEST FIRST! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP ,” Trump’s post reads.

The warning came hours after Trump said the United States had already achieved its objectives in the conflict.

“The United States has wiped Iran off the map, yet their analyst, David Sanger, says I have not achieved my goals. Yes, I have, and weeks ahead of schedule! Their leadership is gone, their Navy and Air Force are dead, they have absolutely no defenses and they want to make a deal. Not me! We are weeks ahead of schedule ,” Trump wrote.

As previously reported by international media, European leaders and Japan have signaled a willingness to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route, amid ongoing tensions with Iran.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical energy corridors. According to analysis by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, disruptions in the waterway could remove nearly 20% of global oil supply from the market, with significant impacts on prices and economic growth. /CNA
