Plane crashes in Nepal/ Dozens of victims are reported

A plane with 72 people on board has crashed near the airport in Nepal. According to what is reported in the media, 40 bodies have been found so far.  

The Yeti Airlines plane that took off from Kathmandu to the tourist town of Pokhara crashed on landing, bursting into flames.

There were 68 passengers on board, at least 15 foreign nationals and four crew members.

About 200 Nepalese soldiers are involved in the rescue at the crash site at the mouth of the Seti River, just one and a half kilometers from the airport.

Chief Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal called an emergency meeting of his cabinet and asked state agencies to work on rescue operations.

Of the passengers, 53 are said to be Nepalese. There were five Indians, four Russians and two Koreans on the plane. There was also a passenger from Ireland, Australia, Argentina and France./ CNA.al
